Skype is (?) down

Skype has been down for more than 16 hours now, with the first users reporting the problem on Twitter yesterday. It seems that Microsoft is taking its time to fix this issue. Interestingly enough, although Skype is down, the ads in the app are working fine, as Windows Report mentions.
